How can I sit the series 7 exam without sponsorship by a FINRA organization?
bryant_forbes asked the question:
I work in a technology company servicing the financial industry, mainly brokers and hedge funds, and am interested in expanding my financial knowledge in order to understand my customer base better.
Is there anyway for me to sit the series 7 in this situation without sponsorship from a FINRA company?
Thanks in advance.

I don’t believe you can. I think sponsorship is a must to take the exam. Is there any chance you have a good relationship with some of your clients…good enough that they would sponsor you?
I think it’s great that you want learn more about the financial industry, but it’s not necessary to take the exam. You could always review the study guides, for example.
All states require that you are sponsored for that exam.
