I work 50+ hours a week in retail mgmt. Should I take a job at Mass Mutual part time given the opportunity?
daniel g asked the question:
I have always been intrigued by the stock market and financial services and the company Mass Mutual seems really nice and I may be offered a position there. I want to know what you guys think about being effective if I only put in a few hours a week in order to get my feet wet and see if I like the business?

There is no way that Mass Mutual is going to let you work part time. They will end up paying for you to get your Series 6 or 7, Series 63,65, or 66, and your Life and Health licenses. I can assure you that they won’t keep you on as a “part-timer.”
If you decide that you want to make this leap, think long and hard about the dramatic life change. You’ll be working more than 50 hrs a week.
