What is the best way to break into the financial services/advisor field?

The casual poster asked the question:

Should I study for the Series 6 and or 7 on my own, pursue a MBA, try to get into a companies training program? It seems very difficult to get your foot in the door in this field.

Any serious suggestions or advice from people currently in the field?

Thanks,

Investing in low P/E companies?

raucous raphael asked the question:

There is a company with an EPS of Rs.13 per share, (discounted EPS of 8.9) and current share price of Rs.46, which gives it a PE of 3.9, which is extremely low considering the existing PEs of other Financial Services companies. However, the company has not paid any dividends till date, and am not sure whether any will be paid this year too.

How advisable is investing in such a company, considering only the low PE, and the future prospects of the firm, which look to be extremely good? In the absence of any dividend payouts, how would the rewards flow?

I want some opinions on this, I am interested in?

Rest of Your Life Off asked the question:

peoples perceptions in terms of social conditioning and word connotations. Please answer this as a two part question.

Now if I told you that I work for a financial services company and our focus is to get people out of debt and also part of what I do is look for talent to hire to help expand our company and to build a business of their own.

What would you say about that? what kinda things come to mind?

Now if I told you that I work for a financial services company that has an aspect of multi level marketing and our focus is to help people become completely debt free and financially independant. Also part of what I do is recruit people to expand our company and give people an opportunity at building a business.

What would you say about that, again what comes to mind?
Good answers so far!
